Photo of white iPad exterior surfaces

Apple's iPad 2 launch is set (at least, as an open secret) for Wednesday and everyone is speculating about what new features the device might have.

Over at 9 to 5 Mac, they have evidence of a modification that few people thought of -- it could be white.

The picture shows a white exterior sporting holes for a camera which line up with other cases rumored to be for the iPad 2.

The saga of the white iPhone is well-known to Apple fans, who have waited for years to see the popular phone lighten up. And while rumors of a white iPhone and photos of white iPhone cases have made the rounds for months, there has been no sign of the handset in stores.

Could it be that Apple's planning to release its latest tablet in white? Or is it just another tease? There's little to do now but wait for all to be revealed Wednesday.

Of all the features that the iPad2 could have, or actually need, the color white cannot possibly be important. Quality cameras, memory, expansion, connectivity (wired and wireless), processing speed; yes. The color white; what difference does that make - none.

Logically you are right. But have you seen/read about the crazy obsession with the elusive white iphone 4?
