Olbermann's 'Worst Person' Works for Homeland Security

By Ed O'Keefe

Most nights the "winner" of the "Worst Person in the World" segment on "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" is Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh or some other conservative he detests.

Friday night's "worst person" however was Lorraine Henderson, 50, the Department of Homeland Security's Boston-area port director. She was charged Friday morning with hiring three illegal immigrants to clean her Salem, Mass. home.

As other news outlets report, Henderson "is in charge of all international points of entry, including airports and shipping terminals, in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and she supervises more than 200 Customs and Border Protection agency employees. She was also responsible for preventing illegal immigrants from entering the country and processing all foreign citizens at ports."

Hmm...

While The Eye agrees in the "innocent until proven guilty" mantra and Henderson's actions should not reflect poorly on DHS's thousands of other employees, it's never good to see a top official accused of bucking the mission of his or her office.

Is this the definition of a "broken" immigration system? I wonder what kind of magic would occur if existing laws were enforced?
