Hilda Solis Sworn in as Labor Secretary

By Ed O'Keefe

Hilda Solis officially became the 25th labor secretary today, as Vice President Joe Biden administered her oath of office with her husband, sisters and former Congressional colleagues watching. As you can see in the video clip above, Solis -- the first Latina to hold the job -- addressed the crowd in Spanish, thanking her family for their support.

"As a daughter of immigrants, I'm very proud to be the first Latina appointed as Secretary of Labor," she said in Spanish. "But it would not be possible without the grand support of my parents, Raul and Juana Solis. And for that I give thanks."
