Tania Shand Moves from the Hill to OPM

Tania A. Shand is leaving Capitol Hill to become director of the Office of Personnel Management's director of congressional relations, acting OPM Director Kathie Ann Whipple announced today.

Shand joins OPM with a solid background in federal employee issues. Since 2007, she has been staff director for the House subcommittee on the federal workforce, postal service, and the District of Columbia. "Under her direction," says the OPM announcement, "the subcommittee also held significant hearings on federal pay-for-performance systems, diversity, telework, and outsourcing at the U.S. Postal Service."
