A List of Obama's Judicial Nominees

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is one of just three of President Obama's judicial nominees confirmed by the Senate.

Liberal activists are beginning to blame the Obama administration for moving too tentatively on the nomination and confirmation of federal judges, The Post's Michael A. Fletcher reports in Friday's editions.

"During his first nine months in office, Obama has won confirmation in the Democratic-controlled Senate for just three of his 23 nominations for federal judgeships, largely because Republicans have used anonymous holds and filibuster threats to slow the proceedings to a crawl."

By October of his first term, Bill Clinton had won Senate confirmation for eight nominees to U.S. District Courts or the Circuit Court of Appeals and one Supreme Court nominee. George W. Bush had won the confirmation of eight District or Circuit Court of Appeals nominees by October of his first year.
