Johnson taking flight from DOT to FAA
Department of Transportation Press Secretary Sasha Johnson is moving on (or taking flight?) to the Federal Aviation Administration on Monday.
Johnson will serve as the agency's assistant administrator for communications and is "incredibly excited about the opportunity," she said in an e-mail to friends and colleagues on Friday. She previously served as a CNN political producer and is one of several journalists that joined the Obama administration.
Johnson's departure means her deputy, Olivia Alair, will now serve as press secretary. Alair served as a press aide on then-Sen. Joseph Biden's presidential campaign (helping The Eye score a face-to-face interview with Biden) before joining the Obama campaign in Ohio.
