Post offices open late tonight for tax filing
Five post offices in the District, Maryland and Northern Virginia are open later tonight for Americans looking to get tax returns in the mail by the end of the day.
In the District the Friendship Station at 4005 Wisconsin Avenue NW is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The National Capital Station at 2 Massachusetts Avenue NE is open 9 a.m. to midnight.
In Maryland the Hampton Park Post Office at 9201 Edgeworth Drive in Capital Heights is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Suburban Plant at160501 Shady Grove Rd. in Gaithersburg is also open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In Northern Virginia the Merrifield branch at 8401 Lee Highway in Fairfax will be open until 8 p.m. and automated postal center will be available -- with human assistance -- until midnight.
