President Obama is skipping the traditional Memorial Day visit to Arlington National Cemetery, a move that has dismayed some veterans -- and comes at a sensitive moment in the administration's relationship with the military.
Instead of speaking at Arlington, as he did last year and as most presidents have done, Obama will appear at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery outside Chicago, the White House said. Vice President Biden will take his place at Arlington, the most prestigious military cemetery in the country and home to Section 60, a large burial ground for soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Paul Rieckhoff, the executive director and founder of the group Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, expressed disappointment at the White House move. "Arlington is hallowed ground, and the center of our nation's attention on Memorial Day".

Somehow believe the families of those interned at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will appreciate having the president visit another hallowed ground.

Sad...if Obama isn't at the Gulf, some say he isn't doing enough being there

If he isn't at the Memorial, he hates our military

Fact is, most of those who are yelling at him are Republicans finding something, anything to cry about

They are mad that they were mocked as morons for supporting such a joke of a President from 2000-2008

Somebody has to attend fundraisers for drowning candidates. Are you going to do it? Are you going to stand up and command $1000 plates of chicken for Barbra Boxer? I didn't think so. Obama goes where he needs to be.

The dead will be dead tomorrow and the oil will still be oil tomorrow.
