Is federal job security a thing of the past? (Video)

By Ed O'Keefe

Is federal job security a thing of the past thanks to Republican proposals to cut government jobs and freeze pay? Maybe not, but The Federal Eye appeared on Friday's "Fox 5 Morning News" to discuss several GOP cost-cutting proposals.

If people aren't doing their jobs correctly, they should be fired....period

As someone who works for the federal government, this idea of cutting our pay is absolutely absurd as we do NOT make that much already and we have FULL caseloads that many in the private sector (which I have been a part of) do not have.....

Why anyone would think that cutting the salary of federal employees would even REMOTELY help the economy is downright laughable. We are trillions in debt yet the TOTAL SAVINGS of this would barely be a few million. Huh?

How about cutting some defense spending like billion dollar planes that we already make and do not use?

The is the sheer mentality of the whole GOP/Tea Bagger party... pounce on the federal worker... it's all their fault! That's it America... keep electing these bimbos into office... as they get richer and richer, and more powerful...

The question each of you GOP/Tea Party folks should be asking yourself is... what has that corrupt and ignorant party done for you lately? Unless you are in the top 10% of the country's wealthy... the only thing it wants to do is make that 10% wealthier... just look at their history for the last few decades or more. The Democratic party use to have great values (defend the middle class and poor), but that also seems to skewed.

Vote these scum bags OUT of office in November. Let's start giving other parties and independants a try! The red and blue have tried for over a century... and has failed us. We need to really clean up washington and get these corporations working for the Americans, not just their profits, boards and investors. Let's get our fed govt cleaned up... infastructure, clean up health coverage, revise the Dept of Defense to be Defense and not Offense... Dismantle the CIA completely... or reduce it to a very small staff under the DOJ with oversight.

Otherwise, this country is doomed!

Fed bashing is the thing of the day. Unfortunately they paint all Federal workers with the same brush. Some Federal workers are educated, have a high work ethic, and work incessantly to improve the effectiveness of the organization they work for. Congress always takes budget problems out on the little guy at the end of the chain. Let them take some responsibility for the out-of-control mess they have created. All Congress should have 5% of their pay paid directly to the deficit. They should also cut out all the "junkets" to other countries to "see the situation for themselves", and stop taking an entourage and family with them.

Darby was so busy teabagging her grandmother that she didn't realize Republicans are the minority party. Although I guess hating on minorities is the Civil Service way.

Why should there be federal job security? The very concept attracts the lazy and encourages uselessness.
