Harry Reid to Lady Gaga: I hear you

In a shameless effort to woo the "Monster" vote, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is communicating directly with Lady Gaga via Twitter.

The meat-wearing pop star (who calls her fans "Monsters") used Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards to announce her support for a repeal of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy by marching down the red carpet with four former service members impacted by the gay ban.

"There is a vote on #DADT next week. Anyone qualified to serve this country should be allowed to do so," Reid tweeted to Gaga this afternoon.

The Nevada Democrat said Monday that the full Senate will vote on this year's Defense authorization bill next week. The measure includes language repealing "don't ask, don't tell." The House passed a similar measure earlier this year.

I find it so odd that law makers will listen to the comments of "musicians" and "celebrities" as the voice of the general public but still refuse to listen to the indivdiuals who put them into office. Don't ask, don't tell...okay get rid of it but not because some nut job who opperates on the fringe or normality (come on now...she wore meat on her head....if I walk out into public with meat on my head then I run the risk of being locked away fro evaluation)....yes Mr. Reid, lets follow the voice of a....well a meat head...good job.

Sorry Gaga you can have it one way or the other but not both. Any singer wearing a meat dress can't really expect anyone to take them or their views seriously. You can play with your persona but don't ever dream to think you speak for me on an issue. Ask Cher for your meat handbag back and hit the road sista.

This should have been repealed years ago. It is a homophobic, discriminatory law that is unconstitutional.

To Harry Reid:

You are both a hypocrite and represents the worst of politics today - willing to kow tow and say and do anything, flip-flopping on any issue to cater to your lobbyists. You first ignored the fundamental freedom for Americans by pushing a health care law that the majority of Americans SAID they did not want and mandating that we all get insurance. And now you have the nerve to grant amnesty to all the illegal immigrant students by trying to pass a "dream act" that will cost millions to us Americans and deny the same opportunity to CITIZENS and legal residents. I remember a time when YOU wanted to ammend the 14th ammendment to no longer grant anchor baby rights to illegal immigrants and NOW THIS FLIP-FLOP? Why? Because you realize now that the illegal immigrants have become a greater voting bloc and you can't fight off the La Raza and Telemundo viewers? May God forgive you for your sins of dishonesty and disloyalty for protecting the rights of Americans who FOLLOW the rules of the land. But instead you chose to reward those who broke the rules and continue to disregard our law! UNFORGIVABLE!!! I don't care if Elmo runs against you. I hope ANYONE who runs against you beats your back-boneless body to pieces!!!

The following was my "letter to the editor" after reading one from an idiot who would have you think that homosexuals are not "citizens" protected under the constitution just as idiots are:"I know that most people have brains, but I but I would certainly wish that the majority of the "people" in this world would use theirs instead of having "kneejerk" reactions. First of all I would like to state that I am a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who as a child, had a religious background, and now live my "religion", but no longer practices any type of form religion for they are, in my lonely opinion, all so "phoney"...Just exactly how many "denominations" are out there? You are all so almight "right" that anybody who doesn't think as you do, act as you do, hate as you do, can't be right. People who believe in the potency of a "GOD" who is all seeing, all knowing, and omnipootent and who, according to you, made us all, have to admit that you are proclaiming with your hatred of homosexuals that HE could make "mistakes" in creating them. You can't have it both ways. So grow up!!! Quit blaming "one liberal judge in California" who is trying to follow the constitution of these United States..

Is it surprising in all the hatred posts here no one has presented an argument why they dont want to repeal DADT?... When your entire post drips of name-calling and insults it only reflects on you guys. bjk is the only one that made sense here.

This Path to citizenship is not limited to a few College grad’s but an amnesty that includes illegal aliens up to age 35! And the illegal families homesteading arrival can even incorporate children as late as age 15! This bill is a giant fraudulent loophole that nationals can claim an amnesty without providing proof of meeting certain criteria. Even the faction of the DREAM ACT amnesty divulges that around 2.1 million people could be eligible. This amnesty has no restriction procedures at all as it still allows businesses to persist in hiring illegal aliens. Further—it temps millions more parents to fetch their children here illegally and stay long enough for them to become high school students and demand another amnesty in a few years.

If this bill is passed it leaves intact the “chain migration system” that will permit these 2.1 million illegal aliens, to eventually send for millions more relatives. The ominous DREAM ACT leaves intact the chain migration system that will allow these 2.1 million illegal aliens to ultimately send for millions more relatives. In quick succession, the legitimized illegal aliens would be able to get green cards for their parents. In the future millions of additional relatives would be able to start planning their applications and getting in line. This starts with adult siblings and moves on to aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. A large percentage of the illegal aliens in the U.S. today are extended family members of the illegal aliens who got amnesty in 1986 and also those in the six more-limited amnesties throughout the 1990s.

The Dream Act should be renamed the NIghtmare Act. Reid and Gaga are two peas in a pod. Both total morons. One is disguised as a powerful senator, and the other is a no talent freak show. With a little make up and wig, Reid could easily pass for Gaga. Bet he buy's a couple of bottles of her new perfume for sweet cheeks Barney and his peter puffing butt buddies over at Fannie Mae. It's amazing who these so called respected honorable elected officials align themselves with, just to capture a few votes.
