Some Northwest Signals Without Power

A power outage has knocked out traffic signals on three key north-south routes in and out of the city, according to an alert from the District Department of Transportation.

Motorists are being asked to treat all intersections that aren't working as four-way stops until the lights are fixed.

DDOT is reporting the following Northwest signals are without power:

Georgia Avenue and Kenyon Street

Georgia Avenue and Irving Street

Sherman Avenue and Columbia Road

Sherman Avenue and Irving Street

11th Street and Irving Street

11th Street and Kenyon Street

There is no information about when the power will be restored, according to DDOT.

So just blow on through without stopping just like you would for a four-way stop.

Yes, treat it as a four-way stop, and get rear-ended by the asshat tailgating you who isn't paying attention. No thanks.

Since MPD doesn't seem to think its job includes vehicle and traffic law enforcement, it's Road Warrior out here anyway.

MPD is too busy with it's REAL priority - REVENUE from speed cameras. To MPD, REAL police work is catching a nap in your cruiser while the speed camera clicks away.

Why do we continue to get this 'treat it like a 4 way stop' when it's just as simple to pass a law saying a 'broken stoplight is the same as a stop sign'.

Sheesh, we don't have right on red at dozens of intersections to 'protect people' they could easily do something like this as well. Then just think how much revenue they could gain from tickets!

There already is a law on the books saying exactly that in DC. It, along with all other traffic laws, is not enforced by MPD.
