Weekend Work on Route 50 in Prince George's
The Maryland State Highway Administration plans to close the two right lanes along a section of eastbound Route 50 in Prince George's County this weekend. The two left lanes will be open and the HOV restriction will be lifted, but there's still likely to be traffic congestion.
The section that will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday through about 2 a.m. Sunday is between Lottsford Vista Road and Enterprise Route (Route 197). The work in those two right lanes involves patching and replacing some concrete.
Watch for arrow boards, warning signs and barrels that will guide traffic into the open left lanes.

Apologies Dr. G:
MD SHA got the route number wrong in their own press release (197 instead of 193), so I can't blame you.

Lottsford Vista Road is the overpass on Route 50 heading east after the exit for MD 704, MLK Jr Highway. Lostford Vista Road is the point where the pavement on Route 50 east transitions from asphalt to concrete.

I even live in Bowie, but had no idea where Lottsford Vista Road is...
Heading east, this would start about 1 mile outside the Beltway just after exit 8 (Rt 704), and would end before Freeway Airport.
(Enterprise Road is Rt 193 - no exit there, but Rt 197 is the next exit after this)
