I live near Springfield and my mother and father live near Fairfax City, so I never have to deal with it :-)

Traffic yesterday afternoon was painless. I drove home from DC around 3:00 on I-295 and had the cruise control (seriously!) set at 62 mph for most of the drive home. Went back downtown later for the Caps game and had the cruise on again at 65 mph both ways on I-395. Surprised the traffic moved as well as it did.

Left Hampton Roads at 11 on Sunday.

I-64W was painless.

I-295N was as well, until you hit the ramp for I-95N, the line was backed up for about a mile. I waved goodbye to everyone and took Route 1 North all the way up to Quantico, then hit the HOV lanes on 95, which were empty.

Total Turkey Day Return travel time: 4 hours.
Usual time: 2.5 hours.

Not bad considering the weather.
