Long Lines at Capitol South Metro

A note to Orange and Blue Line riders: washingtonpost.com's Anna Uhls reports lines of several blocks, and four people wide, trying to get into the Capitol South Metro station; heavy crowding at Federal Center SW and L'Enfant Plaza has also been reported. But The Post's Petula Dvorak says the lines are moving efficiently under the circumstances.

To the west of the aforementioned stops, the Smithsonian and Federal Triangle stops on the Blue and Orange lines are closed. Next easiest for pedestrians to access is probably Farragut West, where The Post's Henry Cauvin has reported that police have been limiting access to the station to combat crowds.
