No More Parking at 3 Lots
As of 5:30 a.m. the Branch Ave, New Carrollton and Greenbelt parking lots are full.
Thomas Adams has worked for Metro for four years, and he's never seen anything like this. Working overtime overnight at the New Carrollton station, he said a line of cars about a mile long was outside the metro parking lot around 230 a.m. today.
Right now, there's a line of people 20 to 30 minutes long outside, but some of the trains are slow to fill up because of the log jam at the turnstyles.
"I've never seen anything like this," said Adams on the platform in his bright yellow flourescent vest. He's directing people to trains and picking up trash. "We've got co-workers that can't even get into work, calling in saying they're gonna be late. They're calling in all hands on deck ... a lot of people from out of town are having trouble understanding the fare card system. But they'll make it up."
