Riding Metro in From Virginia? Good Luck.
Post reporter Jacqui Salmon says Orange Line trains are packed at West Falls Church station, the second stop on the line, and that the trains themselves are getting backed up as well.
Meanwhile, at the end of the Blue Line, Post reporter Jerry Markon says hundreds of cars are lined up outside the Franconia-Springfield station parking lot, and there are more than a thousand people outside the train itself. Cab drivers say the lines started at 2 a.m.
Riders' best shot at getting on a train is to go all the way to one end of the platform -- Robert Thomson reports that many people don't realize these are eight-car trains, so the first and last cars often have few passengers.
