Washingtonpost.com Traffic Tools

There are several other pages here on the site that are helpful to those heading out to the inauguration.

This map provides a broad overview of the congestion, closures, accidents and other problems currently affecting streets and Metro service.

On the washingtonpost.com Traffic page, get live updates from nearly 300 traffic cameras, plus alerts and a real-time conditions map.

And once you're out on the road, use our mobile alerts to get posted about the latest problems.

It would be nice if occasionally the news outlets serving the local area could report on other traffic on roads not going to the Mall (495, 270, etc.). Some of us unlucky ones whose workplace is in the suburbs actually have to work today, and I have absolutely no sense of how bad/good traffic is.
