Update, 1:35 a.m.: The man injured in a one-car accident on the Dulles Greenway in Loudoun County this morning has been identified by Virginia State Police officials as Daniel F. Wiener, 63. His home address was not given. He was the sole occupant of the car and was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where his injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to a statement from state police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.

Original post, 9:32 a.m.: At least one person had to be taken by helicopter to a hospital this morning after a single-car accident on the Dulles Greenway in Loudoun County, just west of the exit for Ryan Road, according to the Virginia State Police.

The accident was reported about 5:35 a.m., state police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said. All lanes were reopened to traffic by 7:30 a.m.

The accident snarled traffic in the area and on the roadway heading east in the morning rush hour.

This appears to be unbelievable. People drive like there is no tomorrow. I can have my cruise set at 65 and people pass me like I'm doing 20. Unless he had a medical condition at the time of the incident, maybe he should try riding a bicycle.... or get more sleep, or stop talking or texting while driving or watch out for those deer ????? Hmmmm, what is up with this?

P.S. I'm glad he is okay, without life threatening condition.

Absolutely ridiculous!!!! This single car accident with non-life threatening injuries caused the entire eastbound Greenway to be shut down and three helicopters to be hovering over Ashburn from 6 to 8 AM? People who were on the Greenway at the time should have been given a refund if they had to "bailout" due to the shutdown.
