Light Traffic Reported in Charles County
Police in Charles County haven't seen many crashes early this morning, according to Diane Richardson, a spokeswoman for the Charles County Sheriff's Office, with most drivers seemingly staying home.
"There aren't many people on the roads this morning," wrote Richardson in an e-mail, "and therefore very few traffic problems. "The timing of the storm and the warnings that came along with it really afforded people a chance to prepare -- unlike the last storm that hit unexpectedly during rush hour."
During the last big snow storm this year, police in Charles responded to more than 100 weather-related traffic calls, including seven involving school buses. This time, school officials canceled the night before.
