Commuter Alert: Eastbound Aspen Hill Rd. Closed in MoCo

The Aspen Hill water main went back into service at 9:20 p.m. after workers repaired a break, a spokesman for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission said.
The eastbound lane of Aspen Hill Road between Connecticut and Georgia avenues in Montgomery County is closed while temporary paving takes place.
The leak was reported about 3 p.m. and WSSC workers shut off the water, affecting the neary Aspen Hill shopping Center. Eastbound traffic was being diverted to Connecticut.

EARLIER:
Eastbound lanes of Aspen Hill Road are closed between Connecticut and Georgia avenues in Montgomery County as workers repair a broken 8-inch water main on Aspen Hill Road, said John White, a spokesman for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. It will take an estimated 3 to 4 hours to complete repairs.
The leak was reported about 3 p.m., he said. WSSC workers have shut off the water, affecting the nearby Aspen Hill Shopping Center, White said.
Westbound lanes of Aspen Hill Road remain open. Eastbound traffic is being diverted to Connecticut.
