Traffic Alert: Beltway Lanes to Close at I-66 Tonight

The Virginia Department of Transportation plans to close all lanes of the Capital Beltway's outer loop at the I-66 Interchange starting at 10 o'clock tonight, if the weather cooperates.es will begin closing. The lanes are scheduled to reopen at 5 a.m. Saturday

This is the second of two shifts to remove steel bridge beams on I-66 and prepare the area for a new I-66 bridge where it converges with the Capital Beltway. It's part of the HOT Lanes construction project, and you can read more about the closing at this VDOT link.
