High School Graduations Can Cause Congestion

Drivers, watch out for some unexpected midday congestion today and for several weeks -- not because of road work, but because of students, parents and teachers swarming toward high school graduations across the region.

Constitution Hall in downtown Washington, the Patriot Center in Fairfax, the Comcast Center in College Park, Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro and the Strathmore Music Center in Bethesda are among the popular sites.

Just as an example, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is speaking this morning at the Quince Orchard High School graduation in Constitution Hall, so security may be tight around there.
