Riders, Remember: 1 p.m. at Wilson Bridge Trail

Cyclists have been waiting a long time for the pathway to open on the north side of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. They have to wait just a few more hours today, till the official opening at 1 p.m.

The new Wilson Bridge Trail is a 1.1 mile, 12-foot wide pathway that will allow cyclists and walkers to travel between Alexandria and Prince George's County.

The weather should be dry and partly sunny, with a high about 80 degrees, says the Capital Weather Gang. See more details about the trail here.

It's likely to be pretty crowded today, with so many people anticipating the opening. The Washington Area Bicyclist Association, Alexandria, Fairfax County, the Oxon Hill Bicycle and Trail Club and Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission have organized a community convoy of bicyclists meeting up at various points for a bridge ride after 1 p.m.
