Traffic Alert: Severe Thunderstorms Cause Road Flooding, Trees Down

The severe thunderstorms moving through the region have caused some serious traffic problems:


  • A tree is down on Brandywine St. NW at Broad Branch Ave.

  • Water is flooding Rt. 110 southbound after Marshal Blvd. below the Memorial Bridge.

  • Beach Drive is closed between Kensington Pkwy. and the Beltway overpass for a water rescue.

uh, standing water at blagden ave and 16th st. could not cause traffic at beach drive, more than a mile downhill from there.
