Avoid Kenilworth Avenue This Weekend
There's more work to be done in the longterm construction zone around Burroughs Avenue NE. Workers are scheduled to place a new section of the bridge deck that takes Kenilworth (295) over the avenue.
This will close two northbound lanes from 8 p.m. Friday through noon on Saturday. One left lane will be available for through traffic. Or, you can use the Burroughs Avenue exit then merge back onto Kenilworth after crossing through the Burroughs Avenue intersection.
Either way, expect delays northbound. Consider these alternatives for getting through DC to the Beltway: I-395 to Route 50 East (New York Avenue), Whitney Young Bridge to East Capitol Street to Central Avenue, Sousa Bridge to Pennsylvania Avenue SE.
