Bay Bridge Accident Causes Eastbound Delays

11:53 A.M. UPDATE: The Maryland Transportation Authority say that as of 11:53 a.m., the delays have let up on the Bay Bridge. Go forth and be merry.

There was an accident involving four vehicles (no injuries reported) on the Bay Bridge this morning. The accident took place at 11:10 a.m. and they cleared it within 10 minutes, but there are still delays heading eastbound at exit 32 (Sandy Point).

So both eastbound lanes are open, just moving sluggishly, said Maryland Transportation Authority spokeswoman Teri Moss. Westbound is in two-way operation, which means the left lane of the westbound bridge (at Annapolis) is open for eastbound traffic, while the other two lanes of the westbound bridge are heading west.

That bridge is a deathtrap - honestly I am surprised that this does not happen daily.
