Outage Hits Intersections in Northeast D.C.
Update, 6:24 p.m.: Pepco's Web site shows this outage as largely resolved.
Original post: About 1,950 customers are without power in Northeast D.C. after a power outage, Pepco says. The following intersections are said to be affected:
- 8th Street NE & Florida Avenue NE
- Florida & West Virginia Avenue NE
- 13th Street NE & Maryland Avenue NE
- 14th Street NE & Maryland Avenue NE
The agency estimated repairs would take until about 5 p.m.

Any news on what the "police activity" is that has closed 1st St from Independence to Constitution Aves (including Independence at 1st St); East Capitol St between 1st and 2nd Sts, Maryland Ave between 1st and 2nd Sts. Info is from Alert DC.
