Tysons Ramp Temporarily Closing Next Month
[5:45 p.m. Update: The Tysons rail project work described below as happening next week has been postponed till the week of Aug. 10, the project team announced this afternoon.]
Tysons drivers can see the beginnings of the Metrorail extension on the north side of Route 123. So far, it's been the junior partner in traffic disruption to the HOT lanes construction project, which has shut the center lanes on Route 123 near the Beltway.
But there will be some disruption overnights next week when utility relocations for the rail project temporarily close off the exit ramp from the eastbound Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) to northbound Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123). The shutdown is scheduled for midnight to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday.
Detour: Drivers will be directed to the ramp to southbound Route 123 and then will use the traffic signal to reach the northbound lanes. Watch for police guidance.
