County Connector Work Shifts Traffic Patterns in Md.

Lane shifts are underway on Longmead Crossing Drive and Layhill Road in Montgomery County this week to accommodate construction of the Intercounty Connector.

Longmead Drive will be moved onto a temporary road for about a year to allow construction of a permanent bridge that will carry it over the ICC. Later this week, a similar shift will occur to make way for the construction of a Layhill Road bridge over the ICC, and work on an interchange that will connect the ICC with Route 182. Barrier walls, temporary crash cushions, barrels, guardrails, temporary traffic signs and variable message boards will alert and guide motorists through work areas.

To find out more about the project, call 866-462-0020 or visit the Web site at http://www.iccproject.com.
