Expect Delays on Wisconsin Avenue

A Medivac helicopter has been called in to 35th Street and Wisconsin Avenue Northwest to fly out a person with a serious hand injury.

I have to assume "hand" is a typo and that "head" was the intention. What possible hand injury could honestly necessitate a Medivac in the middle of a high-traffic, urban area?
