Traffic Alert: U.S. 301 Over The Potomac
One lane of the bridge that carries U.S. 301 over the Potomac will be closed from Monday, Aug. 31 until Thursday, Sept. 3 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. as work crews set a guardrail, pour concrete and perform line striping. The project involves realigning the northbound and southbound approaches to the toll plaza, replacing and upgrading toll booths and safety features and improving signing. This phase, scheduled to be complete in September, consists of work on the northbound right shoulder. The next phase will involve work in the center of the toll plaza. The project is scheduled to be complete in 2010.
