Accident on Bay Bridge Slows Eastbound Traffic
12:15 P.M. UPDATE: All eastbound and westbound lanes are open on Route 50 before exit 32, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation Web site. The eastbound shoulder is now closed. But traffic is still slowly ebbing along at Sandy Point.
12 P.M. UPDATE: Traffic cameras are showing that US 50 eastbound slows to a crawl right about when you reach Sandy Point. So if you're heading out now, be aware.
ORIGINAL POST: One of the eastbound lanes on the Bay Bridge is closed due to an accident, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation. It's on the Anne Arundel County side of the bridge, and eastbound traffic is seeing delays beginning at exit 31 (Whitehall Road). That's 1.1 miles from the toll plaza.
