Delays Occurring on the Blue and Yellow Lines
UPDATE (11:36 a.m.): Residual delays continue on the Blue and Yellow lines. Metro spokeswoman Cathy Asato said that a train's brakes malfunctioned at 10:51 a.m., forcing officials to offload one train at the Pentagon station. Normal traffic resumed at 11 a.m., she said.
A witness at the scene said passengers on the offloaded train needed to wait about 15 minutes. Then a Blue Line train ran on the lower level, but the witness said no one announced it was leaving so hundreds of people were stranded until the next train came.
ORIGINAL (11:24 a.m.): Metro reports delays on the Blue and Yellow lines due to an earier problem at Pentagon Station. The transit agency says passengers should expect longer wait times for trains traveling in both directions.
