Left Lane of Outer Loop Blocked at Am. Legion Bridge
updated 6:34 a.m.
The left lane of the Capital Beltway's outer loop is blocked on the American Legion Bridge because of a boat that fell off its towing trailer earlier this morning.
There are substantial backups from the Beltway to the lower end of I-270, for vehicles traveling southbound from Maryland over the Potomac River and into Virginia. A tow truck has arrived on the scene to remove the truck, but authorities say there is debris in the road and delays should be expected until the site is cleaned up.

Don't forget heading home tonight on I66 that James Delaney Buffett is playing at Nissan. Traffic on I66W and around Manassas should be a disaster today and Saturday.

Oh well, let's get all the commuters to push the boat over the side and let it float on the water, or sink into it.
Has anybody called the Coast Guard to informe them of the accident, since it is marine related?
