Metrobus Making Some Schedule Changes

In a previous posting, I noted some changes coming up Oct. 4 in the D.C. Circulator bus routes. But Metrobus also is making changes in Maryland and Virginia. They take effect this coming Sunday, Sept. 27.

There's one change in Maryland, and more in Virginia.

MARYLAND
A12 Martin Luther King Jr. Highway Line: The Sunday schedule will change. Southbound buses will leave Capital Plaza for Capitol Heights Station via Addison Road Station at 10 minutes past every hour between 7:10 a.m. and 11:10 p.m. An earlier first bus will leave at 6:20 a.m.

Northbound buses will leave Capitol Heights Station for Capital Plaza via Addison Road Station at 10 minutes past every hour between 8:10 a.m. and 10:10 p.m. An earlier bus will be added to the schedule and will leave Capitol Heights at 7:10 a.m.

VIRGINIA
24P Ballston-Pentagon Line: Metrobus weekday service will be replaced by Arlington Transit (ART) Route 42.

REX Richmond Highway Express: Service via the bus stop at Gunston Road and 5th Street in Fort Belvoir will be discontinued for safety reasons, Metro says. Southbound buses leaving King Street Station will follow the present route to Gunston Road and Jackson Loop (north), then continue left on Jackson Loop to the terminal, west of the entrance to Building 1425.

21A Landmark-Pentagon Line: One morning and one afternoon bus will be added to the schedule. Northbound buses will leave Reynolds and Duke Streets, going to the Pentagon at 6, 6:16, 6:33, 6:51, 7:08, 7:25, 7:42, 7:59, 8:17 and 8:37 a.m. Southbound buses will leave the Pentagon, going to Reynolds and Duke Streets at 4, 4:20, 4:40, 4:57, 5:14, 5:31, 5:48, 6:05, 6:22, 6:40, 7 and 7:20 p.m.

In the afternoon, the southbound route will be changed in Landmark to operate via Duke and South Van Dorn Street, Edsall Road, South Whiting Street, Stevenson Avenue, Yoakum Parkway and Edsall Road, where the present route will be resumed going to Reynolds and Duke Streets.

15K, L Chain Bridge Road Line: To improve transfer connections at Tysons Corner with the Route 15M, eastbound 15L buses that leave Tysons Corner at 7:30 and 8:07 a.m. will be changed to leave at 7:31 and 8:13. Eastbound 15K buses that leave Tysons Corner at 3:41, 4:45 and 5:20 p.m. will be changed to leave at 3:42, 4:44 and 5:22 p.m.

15M George Mason University-Tysons Corner Line: To improve transfer connections at Tysons Corner with Routes 15K and 15L, Metro says, eastbound buses that leave George Mason University at 6:25, 6:52 and 8 a.m., and at 3, 4:03 and 4:48 p.m. will be adjusted to leave at 6:23, 6:51 and 7:57 a.m., and at 2:58, 4 and 4:47 p.m. Westbound buses that leave Tysons Corner at 7:16, 8:26 and 8:56 a.m. will leave at 7:18, 8:29 and 8:59 a.m.
