Any word on what's happening on outbound New York Avenue?

I hit a traffic jam tonight around 10 PM after passing the Brentwood Parkway ramp, and it took me almost 30 minutes to move half a mile! Of course, this happened on the section where turns of any kind are impossible, and I finally found a gap in the median where I could make a U-turn to escape the gridlock. Traffic was moving slow enough for me to turn off my car.

WTOP mentioned nothing, and I was never able to figure out what was happening...
