Updates on Accidents on Both Sides Of The Bay
Accidents and delays on Route 50 on both sides of the Chesapeake Bay caused delays for travelers heading in both directions. The incident on the eastern side was at Route 50 and Skipton Creek Road; the westbound right lane was closed, but has since been reopened. So there is one lane still closed on the westbound side, two lanes open on the eastbound side. 3:45 P.M. UPDATE: All westbound lanes of Route 50 are now open, according to the Maryland State Police.
The incident on the western side of the bay, as reported earlier, caused delays near exit 31. Traffic cameras still show a big slowdown at Sandy Point, so plan for that.
