Expect delays on I-95 south at Greenbelt Metro
Update (8:30 a.m.): A half-hour after the accident was cleared, delays remain heavy from College Park south.
Update (8 a.m.): The accident has been cleared but delays continue.
Original post: Trafficland and NewsChannel 8 report that two lanes are blocked on the Capital Beltway southbound lanes in Maryland near the Greenbelt Metro Station. Delays are beginning to build.

I came by not long after this accident and there was no reason for two lanes to be blocked. The accident was against the guardrail on the shoulder and not in a travel lane. Blocking the right-hand lane should have been sufficient for emergency crews to work. I saw no reason to block any lanes beyond that except that they "can" and it was a nice place to park their firetruck.
