MetroAccess service limited on Monday

MetroAccess transit, a service for the elderly and disabled, will operate on a limited schedule on Monday due to uncertainty about the state of secondary roads in the wake of the snowstorm. Metro officials said the service will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but only for customers whose trips are associated with medical needs such as chemotherapy and dialysis. Other trips will be canceled, and customers should receive automated calls with the news.

Thanks for the information that the D2 is not running. The WMATA release for today does not list it as out of service. They list the 60 and the G2 as the only buses not running.

On another page, they suggest that customers use the NextBus service to confirm times, etc. for buses. That service shows 'phanton' D2s making their way around the route.

I stood out in the cold for 30 minutes before realizing that the NextBus listings on the NextBus site and on my BlackBerry were fictional!

Nice job - I'll read you first next time!!
