Person struck by train near Burke Centre; delays on Manassas Line
Update (7 p.m.): A 15-year-old was the one struck by a train Wednesday afternoon while walking with a friend on the tracks, near the intersection of Glasgow Woods Court and Leafy Woods Court, according to Fairfax County police.
The friend jumped off the tracks as the train approached, but the 15-year-old did not and was struck by the Norfolk Southern train, according to Lucy Caldwell, a Farifax County police spokeswoman. The teen was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
