Headaches on the horizon

Here's the work between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the Beltway HOT lanes project and the Dulles Metrorail project.

HOT lanes
Lanes closed:
-- Two right lanes of Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) west and a single left lane of Arlington Blvd. east will close at I-495 for bridge work.
-- Three left lanes of I-495 north will close at Lee Highway (Route 29) overpass for steel beam erection.
-- Three lanes of I-495 south (outer loop) will close from Exit 49, I-66 to just beyond Lee Highway (Route 29) for steel beam erection. Expect temporary full outer loop closures here for up to 30 minutes at a time to begin after midnight.
-- A single lane of Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south will close at Tysons Blvd. for utility work.

Road closed:
-- Lee Highway (Route 29) south will close at I-495 for waterline installation. Both directions of traffic will be directed to use northbound lanes of Lee Highway.
-- I-495 north will close at Exit 54, Braddock Rd. (Route 620) for steel beam erection. (I-495 through traffic will be directed to take Exit 54B, Braddock Rd. east, police will direct traffic to u turn and take I-495 north exit.)
-- I-495 west (Inner Loop) will close at Exit 169, Franconia Rd. (Route 644) for pier work. (I-45 west through traffic will be directed to take I-395 north to Exit 2, Edsall road west, stay to the right following signs to I-395 south, and take the I-495 west exit Towards Tysons Corner.)

Ramp closed:
-- I-495 north collector distributor road will close at Exit 54 Braddock Rd. (Route 620) and ramp to Braddock Rd. west will close too for steel beam erection. (I-495 through traffic will be directed to take Exit 54B, Braddock Rd. east, police will direct traffic to u turn and take I-495 north exit. Traffic seeking access to Braddock Rd. west will be directed to take Exit 54B, Braddock Rd. east, police will direct traffic to u turn onto Braddock Rd. west)
-- Ramp from Braddock Rd. (Route 620) east will close to I-495 north for steel beam erection. (Traffic will be directed to continue east on Braddock Rd., make a left onto Backlick Rd., make a left onto Little River Tpke (Route 236) and follow signs to I-495 north.)
-- Ramp from I-66 west will close to I-495 south for steel beam erection. (Traffic will be directed to continue west to Exit 62, Nutley St, stay to the right following signs to I-66 east, take I-495 north exit to Exit 47, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) stay to the right following signs to I-495 south.)
-- Ramp from I-66 east HOV and general purpose ramps to I-495 south will close for steel beam erection. (Traffic will be directed to take I-495 north exit to Exit 47, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) stay to the right following signs to I-495 south.)
-- Ramp from Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) west will close to I-495 south for bridge work. (Traffic will be directed to take I-495 north to Exit 47, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west, stay to the right following sings to I-495 south)


Dulles Metrorail project
Lanes closed:
-- A single lane of Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) will close from Scotts Crossing Rd. to the I-495 interchange for utility work.
-- Two right turn lanes from Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) will close to Tysons Blvd for utility work. (traffic will be directed to continue south on Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) taking a right onto International Blvd. and another right onto Galleria Dr. and follow signs to Tysons Blvd.)
