Headaches on the horizon
These are some lane and ramp closings that could slow your travels between 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday.
Capital Beltway HOT lanes project
Lanes closed
-- Three right lanes closed on I-495 north at Lee Hwy (Route 29) overpass for steel beam erection.
-- Two right lanes closed on Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) east and west at I-495 for demolition work. Expect full intermittent road closures up to 30 minutes after midnight.
-- Two left lanes on Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north at I-495 will close for bridge work.
Ramp closed
-- Exit 50B, Ramp from I-495 south to Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) east will close for demolition. Traffic will be directed to continue south to Exit 52B, Little River Tpke (Route 236) east, stay to the right following signs for I-495 north and take Exit 50B, Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) east.
Dulles Metrorail project
Lanes closed
-- Right turn lane and single right lane on Dolley Madison Blvd. (Route 123) south will close from Scotts Crossing to I-495 for utility work.
-- Two left turn lanes on Dolley Madison Blvd. (Route 123) north will close at Capital One Dr. for utility work.
-- Two left turn lanes of Capital One Dr. south will close at Dolley Madison Blvd. (Route 123) for utility work.
-- A single right lane of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east and west at Spring Hill Rd. will close for utility work.
-- A single left turn lane from Old Meadow Rd. to Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) will close for utility work.
-- Two right turn lanes from Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south to Tysons Blvd. will close for utility work. Traffic will be directed to continue south on Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) and make a right onto International Dr. and make a right onto Galleria Dr. to Tysons Blvd.
