Headaches on the horizon

Metro track maintenance
Weekend work on the Red Line tracks is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. Friday and continue through Metrorail's weekend closing at midnight Sunday.

Passengers between Medical Center and Grosvenor should add at least 20 minutes to their travel time. Trains will be sharing a single track to get around a work zone in which crews will be replacing rail fasteners and making tunnel repairs. Every other train in the direction of Shady Grove will terminate at Friendship Heights and head back toward Glenmont.

Beltway detour in Tysons
Watch for Beltway traffic congestion in Tysons Corner early Saturday morning. The exit ramp from the Beltway's outer loop to southbound Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) will close from midnight to 5 a.m. Saturday for work on the Dulles Metrorail project.

Meanwhile, drivers on eastbound I-66 will encounter lane closures near the Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) interchange Friday night and Saturday morning. See more details and a detour map in this posting.
