Standing water closes I-495 North lane, plus other Virginia delays

The right lane of I-495 North is closed at I-66 this morning due to standing water. Traffic delays and congestion are being seen as far back as the Braddock Road exit.

Additionally, a disabled vehicle on I-66 East just after the Beltway has closed the east right shoulder. The usual I-395 North delays exist from King Street back pretty much to the Beltway. And an accident on I-95 North in Newington has closed the north right shoulder around Rolling Road/638.

AGAIN!!! These HOT lane construction managers need to get their act together. This is now the FOURTH time they have had to close a lane during rush hour in this stretch (two other times due to a water main break and a third time due to standing water that eventually froze). There is absolutely no excuse for this problem to continuously occur when it is obvious that the HOT lane construction has created a drainage problem.. It's not like this was some surprise storm, or this was some unknown problem.

I've had it with this HOT lane construction, and I hope that the companies in charge of them lose their pants because drivers will not pay their obscene tolls!
