Headaches on the horizon

Things must be getting better. Once again, there's roadwork to tell you about. These Virginia projects involve some lane and ramp closings between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Beltway HOT lanes project
Lanes closed

• Two right lanes of Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) south at Interstate 495 will close for bridge deck work.


• Three right lanes of I-495 north at the Oak Street overpass will close for steel beam erection. Expect full road closures up to 30 minutes after midnight.


• Three right lanes of I-495 south at Oak Street overpass will close for steel beam erection.


• A single left lane of I-495 at Lee Highway (Route 29) overpass will close for steel beam erection. Expect full road closures up to 30 minutes after midnight.


• Two left lanes of I-495 south at Exit 52, Little River Turnpike (Route 236), will close for bridge deck work. Expect full road closures up to 30 minutes after midnight.

Ramp closed
Ramp from I-495 north to Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) south will close for bridge deck work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Exit 44, Georgetown Pike (Route 193) west, stay to the left following signs to I-495 south and take Exit 46A, Chain Bridge Road south.

Dulles Metrorail project
Lanes closed

• Right turn lane and single right lane on Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123) south from Scotts Crossing to I-495 for will close utility work.


• A single right lane of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east and west at Spring Hill Road will close for utility work.


• Two left turn lanes of Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123) north at Capital One Drive will close for utility work.


• A single left turn lane from Old Meadow Road to Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) will close for utility work.


• A single right lane of Westpark Drive from Greensboro Drive to Leesburg Pike (Route 7) will close for utility work.
