Headaches on the horizon

Here are some spots to avoid overnight. Work on these projects is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Thursday through 5 a.m. Friday.

Capital Beltway HOT lanes
Lanes closed


  • Two right lanes of Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) south at I-495 will close for bridge deck work.

  • Three right lanes of I-495 north at Oak Street overpass will close for steel beam erection. Expect full road closures up to 30 minutes after midnight.

  • Three right lanes of I-495 south at Oak Street overpass will close for steel beam erection.

  • Two left lanes of I-495 south at Exit 52, Little River Turnpike (Route 236) will close for bridge deck work. Expect full road closures up to 30 minutes after midnight.

Dulles Metrorail project
Lanes closed


  • A single right lane of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east and west at Spring Hill Road will close for utility work.

  • A single right lane of Westpark Drive from Greensboro Drive to Leesburg Pike (Route 7) will close for utility work.
