Headaches on the horizon
There's some roadwork that could slow your travels overnight.
Capital Beltway HOT lanes project
This construction is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday.
-- Two right lanes of Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) south at the Beltway will close for bridge deck work.
-- A single lane of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west will close at the Beltway for bridge work.
-- Three left lanes of the Beltway outer loop (Interstate 495 south) will closed at the Oak Street overpass for steel beam erection.
-- Three left lanes of the inner loop (I-495 north) will close at the Oak Street overpass for steel beam erection. Expect full intermittent road closures up to 30 minutes after midnight.
-- Single lane of the inner loop (I-495 south) collector distributor road at Exit 47, Leesburg Pike (Route 7), will close for bridge work.
Dulles Metrorail project
This work also is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. through 5 a.m.
-- Two left-turn lanes of Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123) at Capital One Drive will close for utility work.
-- Two lanes of Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123) will close from Scotts Run Road to Capital One Drive for utility work.
-- A single left-turn lane from Old Meadow Road West at Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123) will close for utility work.
University Boulevard
A single lane on the boulevard between Veirs Mill Road and Arcola Avenue is scheduled to be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night through Friday. A single lane also will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each weekday.
Route 301 bridge
Watch for single lane closings on the bridge over Central Avenue (Route 214) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night through Friday. Lanes also will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each weekday.
