Headaches on the horizon

Besides getting blown around by strong winds, travelers will encounter a few overnight construction projects to slow their journeys.

Beltway HOT lanes
These lane closings can occur between 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday.
-- Three left lanes of I-495 north will close at Lee Highway (Route 29) overpass for bridge work. Expect full road closures up to 30 minutes after midnight.
-- Three left lanes of I-495 north will close at Oak Street overpass for bridge work. Expect full road closures up to 30 minutes after midnight.

Dulles Metrorail project
These lane closings also can occur between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m.
-- Two left turn lanes of Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123) north at Capital One Drive will close for utility work.
-- Two lanes of Dolley Madison Boulevard will close from Scotts Run Road to Capital One Drive for utility work.
-- A single left turn lane of Old Meadow Road West at Dolley Madison Boulevard will close for utility work.
