Hearings this week on D.C. suburban bus service
Last week it was Metro. This week, several suburban jurisdictions are scheduled to hold forums and hearings on bus fare increases and service cuts.
-- Montgomery County's Ride On bus service has scheduled a forum on proposed service cuts for Monday starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending after the last speaker at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe St., Rockville.
-- The Montgomery County Council plans to hold a hearing on a proposal to raise Ride On fares 10 to 20 cents. The hearing will be held on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Hearing Room of the Council Office Building, 100 Maryland Ave., Rockville.
-- Alexandria Transit, which operates the DASH bus, has scheduled a public hearing for Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in City Council Workroom (Room 2410) of Alexandria City Hall to consider fare and service changes for the budget year starting in July.
