DDOT to show Sherman Ave. plans
The District Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting on April 8 to provide details on design plans for improvements on Sherman Avenue.
The meeting will be held at the DC Housing Finance Agency Auditorium, 815 Florida Avenue NW, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The agency is located near the intersection of Florida and Eighth Street.
Officials said the plan is intended to:
-- Make the neighborhood feel more residential by reducing the number of travel lanes in each direction to one.
-- Make the area safer for pedestrians.
-- Improve the appearance of the neighborhood with the addition of plantings, upgraded street lights and upgraded traffic signals.
